The ancient Tibetan capital, the magical city of Lhasa which literally means "place of the gods," is the ultimate demonstration of the Chinese dictatorship’s attempt to destroy the soul of Tibet. Since its invasion of Tibet in 1949, the "People's" Republic of China has engaged in housing rights violations involving the systematic destruction of Tibetan architectural heritage.
