L’appuntamento settimanale di Idem Adv con le migliori graphic inspiration del web da me selezionate per voi, per stupirvi e stimolare la vostra immaginazione. Gli spunti visivi in grafica sono come sempre vari, spaziando in vari campi culturali (es:cinema, letteratura) e non di rado facendo capolino nel mondo dell’arte. Per quanto riguarda l’arte contemporanea oggi abbiamo ben due omaggi fatti a Salvador Dalì (BBD Brazil) e a Keith Haring, il doodle di Google creato in occasione dell’anniversario della nascita del padre dei graffiti. Polish artist Kordian Lewandowski has taken inspiration from michelangelo famous la pieta sculpture and reinterpreted it using nintendo characters. lewandowski’s sculpture features mario and princess in place of jesus and mary from michelangelo’s. named ‘game over’, the piece is made from polystyrene foam that lewandowski carved in full scale using a chainsaw at first and more precise tools to finish. while the sculpture may not be included in an art history book, it showcases one of the most iconic sculptural subjects of the renaissance re-contextualized using the storyline of mario instead of the bible. Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow Over Mystara, building on the success of its predecessor Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom, is perhaps the pinnacle of side-scrolling beat-'em-ups ever to grace arcades. Coming near the end of the popularity of arcade machines in the U.S., the game somehow managed to transition all of the coolest aspects of the D&D universe into something that approached a cross between Diablo II and Final Fight -- with some amazing music and sound design to sweeten the pot.
