La canzone fu cantata poi da May (anche alla tastiera) durante il The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert del 1992 e lo stesso chitarrista la utilizzò come singolo nello stesso anno. Brian May premiato. "Too much love will kill you" apparì inizialmente nell'album Back to the Light di Brian May in una versione acustica rispetto a quella che venne inserita nell'album dei Queen, Made in Heaven, tre anni dopo. Mentre in Back to the light il brano è cantato soltanto dal chitarrista, il quale nel 1994 ricevette anche l'Ivor Novello per la composizione, in Made in Heaven è Mercury a conferirgli un pathos difficile da descrivere.
