The bridge is a strategic piece of american infrastructure plan because it links Long Beach with Terminal Island, where there is one of the american biggest ports. Under the infrastructure will pass boats heading to the port, whose activities involve not only Long Beach but LA, too. The bridge is part of the Federal Strategic Highway Network.
